Base metals were trading sideways during the mid morning on Tuesday, 1st November. The China's manufacturing index grew at slower pace in October coupled with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou pledged to hold a referendum on the new European debt deal reached last week weighed on the sentiment.
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing reported that its monthly purchasing managers index fell unexpectedly by 0.8% to 50.4, just above the 50-level that signifies expansion. China's manufacturing remained sluggish in October, the slowest growth in nearly three years.
